With all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it is all too important to take some time to relax and recharge. Read more for some tips and tricks on how to destress during this holiday season!

1. Cuddle up by the fire with your favorite book.
Because nothing says relaxation and wintertime more than hopping into your comfiest pajamas and reading a book with a cozy blanket by the fireplace.

2. Write down your feelings in a journal.
Journaling has been proven to relieve stress. Write down what is troubling you, and keep note of your moods throughout the day.

3. Speaking of writing, make a to-do list.
Having the things you need to do on a list will make those things a lot less overwhelming and more organized. Make sure to write down a “to-done” list alongside it with things you have already accomplished – it is good to recognize the work that you have put in.

4. Take a warm bath with your favorite holiday-scented bath bomb.
A warm bath goes a long way at the end of a stressful day. The hot water will relax your muscles that have contracted because of stress. A holiday-scented bath bomb will delight the senses and create a sense of calm.

5. Practice yoga.
Yoga helps reduce stress and anxiety. There are plenty of free video tutorials on the internet to try out.

6. Do a Christmas-themed guided meditation.
Mediation can help with relaxation and stress relief. There are many Christmas-themed guided meditation sessions on the internet to get you in that holiday spirit minus the hustle and bustle.

7. Drink hot chocolate.
Stay away from caffeinated drinks during the holiday season, which can increase stress and anxiety. Instead, opt for other warm drinks, like festive hot chocolate, or a nice warm glass of milk or herbal tea.

8. Take care of your skin.
Taking care of your skin during the holidays is vital to feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. Make sure to wash your face, use essential oils, moisturizer, toner, and exfoliate regularly. Treat yourself to a holiday-scented face mask or sugar scrub for added comfort.

9. Spend time with friends and family.
Spending time with the people you love will help reduce any of those jittery holiday feelings. Playing a board game, watching a movie, or just being around your favorite people will instantly make you feel better.

10. Light a holiday-scented candle.
Good smells are proven to reduce anxiety. A warm holiday scent may help put you in a good mood, however, lavender, rose, and orange blossom are also among the many great scents that help you relax.

11. Listen to soothing holiday music.
Find a calming holiday playlist you like and get to listening. Calming music is known to help with stress and instantly improve moods.

12. Cuddle up!
Cuddling helps relieve stress and can even help lower blood pressure. So grab a blanket and your beau and take a well-deserved cuddle break!

13. Make time for self-care.
Set aside a period of time per day for self-care. It is essential to recharge when stressed, and especially so during the holiday season when stress levels are generally higher. Whether it is an hour or even just ten minutes, take time to recharge and destress for yourself so you can enjoy the holiday season.
