When the sun is shining, everyone wants to head outdoors. Alfresco dining becomes an obsession when the weather warms up. Charming Picnics suggests setting up a backyard picnic! Whether it is you and your better half, your kids, or simply yourself, a backyard picnic is a simple way to get some fresh air and sunshine without having to leave the comfort of your own home. And of course, if you do not have a backyard, the living room floor or a small balcony would be just as enjoyable. It is all about creativity and a can-do attitude! Picnicking is a state of mind.

Picking a Spot

Choose a spot that is flat, with a few trees to provide shade, and offers a great relaxing view. You probably already know of a few close to you. Select the right blanket that will provide enough cushioning to lay on. Depending on preference, you can also lay a tablecloth or a carpet on the ground. Make sure that the space you choose to eat on is as flat as possible. Otherwise, it may be awkward to sit down. Adding a small table or tray that can also be helpful to place your items on.

Comfort is Key

Do not forget to bring along some pillows to create comfort; you will want something soft and plush to relax on after a long day. In addition to this, you can add different decorative and functional elements depending on the style you want to follow. These include lanterns, umbrellas, and candles. In this way, you will create a unique and comfortable atmosphere. You can also choose plants and flowers of your liking to decorate your picnic with beautiful floral arrangements.

Do Not Forget the Grub

A picnic is only as good as the food! Make sure you choose food that is easily packable and fresh. Choose a menu that ranges from savory to sweet to satisfy the whole crew! Charcuterie boards, salads, and sandwiches are great options. And do not forget the refreshments. Bottles of water or lemonade are the perfect add-on refreshment to your meal.

Lastly, have fun! Pack some fun activities and a speaker to listen to your favorite tunes. Pack some board games, a book, or coloring books to make for the perfect picnic experience.
