Designing the interior of your home is no easy feat. There is a seemingly endless range of styles to ponder, trends to adopt or refuse, and aesthetic leanings to consider. And most of the time, you simply have to use your imagination to picture how it will look in your home and hope that everything comes together as you envisioned.
Fortunately, technology has made things a lot easier on the home decor front. These days, there are a number of great apps specially designed to make the whole process much more simple, fun, and enjoyable. From capturing any color on the go to showing you what a piece of furniture will look like in your home to hands-on help from an interior designer, the following home design apps let you say goodbye to your interior design struggles for good.
View In My Room 3D
One of the most challenging aspects of designing an interior is trying to accurately picture what a new piece of furniture or decor will look like in your space. Well, this handy app from Houzz takes the guesswork out of it. You can search from over 300,000 interior products in the Houzz Shop and once you find one you like, simply take a photo of the space you would like to put it in and a 3D rendering of the product will pop up right in your photo.
Color Capture
Have you ever been out and stumbled upon an interior color that you love but have no idea what it is called or where it is from? Then you need this app in your life. Color Capture is an app from paint company Benjamin Moore that allows you to take a photo of the color in question and the app will return several paint color options that match it. Even better, you will also get suggestions for additional hues that pair well with it.
Measured
Scale is incredibly important when designing a home. If you get furniture that is too big, your space will look cramped and crowded; if you get pieces that are too small, it will look empty and hollow. The Measured app by Lowe’s ensures you never have either of those problems by transforming your phone into a measuring device using augmented reality and your phone’s camera. This way, you can measure anything, anywhere, and you will always have the measurements handy when you need them.
Artfully Walls
A gallery wall is a great way to add visual intrigue to your design while showcasing your favorite art pieces. However, it can be mighty tough to figure out what, exactly, a gallery wall will actually look like when all is said and done. With Artfully Walls, all you have to do is snap a photo of the wall in question, and then you can add and rearrange different options. This will enable you to see exactly how the final product will look.
Magic Plan
Magic Plan is an all-in-one app that allows you to create a customized floor plan of your space from start to finish, and it could not be easier to use. Using just your phone’s camera, the app spits back the rough dimensions of your interior. You can use this to plan your space. Plus, you can add pieces of décor and furniture to your new floor plan. This gives you an idea of how your potential arrangement will look. It should be noted that the measurements provided are not 100 percent accurate. But, they are close enough to give you a good idea of what to do with your space.
Havenly
Even with all of the aforementioned help, sometimes you want a professional’s input. Well, with the Havenly app, you can get just that. Sometimes you find yourself in a design dilemma and are not sure which direction to go. Simply snap a photo of your space and upload it to the app. Havenly will match you with a professional interior designer based on your aesthetic. Then you can ask them all of the questions you need to get your design squared away. If you want to take your relationship a step further, you can hire the designer to complete your space starting from only $79.
