Road Trip Snackin’

Written by: Lucy Ann Parker

Summer brings the opportunity for travel and adventure, some by plane but also by car!  One of the greatest advantages of a road trip is the ability to pack all of the snack possibilities.

Road Trip Snack Ideas:

Breakfast

  • Granola bars
  • Fruits such as bananas, apples, and grapes
  • Yogurt
  • Muffins or scones

Homemade

Granola Bar to eat on a road trip

  • Cookies, packaged individually or in pairs
  • Sweet breads, pre-sliced and individually wrapped in a zip-top bag, plastic wrap or travel container
  • Homemade snack mix consisting of all of your favorite ingredients

Savory

  • Peanut butter filled pretzels
  • Cheese and crackers
  • Trail mix
  • Chips
  • Beef jerky
  • Sunflower or pumpkin seeds

Sweet

  • Chocolate covered pretzels
  • Gummy snacks
  • Chocolate covered nuts
Road Trip Tips: Bring extra gallon zip top bags or plastic grocery sacks for easy disposal of trash until your next rest stop. Additionally, a cooler with ice will help keep any cold snacks at a proper temperature until use (think yogurt, cheese, and even fruits or candies). On a similar note, do not forget the drinks! All that snackin’ is going to build up thirst.
