Hear ye, hear ye! The 47th annual Texas Renaissance Festival is starting this weekend. As the largest Ren Fair in the country, fair goers explore dozens of world renown acts that pay homage to a time in our world’s history full of unique artistry, defining history, and wild entertainment. If you join the festivities, expect to see a wide and colorful array of costumes and sets made by passionate artists, performers, and actors who will take you back in time for a weekend of extravagant fun and adventure!

Don’t have a costume? Bring one or even buy one while you enjoy yourself! Marvel at the wares of the many merchants who sell weaponry, jewelry, unique clothing and more. Vendors fashion much of the merchandise after the Middle Ages and other popular themes, such as steampunk or pirates. Mix and match to design your own costume to stand out among the masses.

If you can stay a bit longer, you can rent a cabin or a space for an RV or a tent for a daily fee. Each weekend has a different theme and every day is packed full of your choice of events ranging from pageants to food feasts to epic battles. The festival is host to entertainers from around the world including clowns, jugglers, acrobats, and magicians.

Fairgoers should also plan to stuff themselves with all the regular fair delicacies. Turkey legs and funnel cakes are a given of course, but try a scotch egg or alligator sausage for something more unique. Several food types from Asian to Greek to Mexican are represented. You’ll also find both adult and kid friendly beverages around every corner. The food and drinks might be half the fun.

Bring the family to enjoy all the Texas Renaissance Festival has to offer!
